SHIP'S LOG:
I haven't been writing lately simply because there hasn't been all that much to write about. Yes, I am still alive and well and living somewhere other than on ABISHAG. Without ABISHAG out of the water and on the hard, the only thing that is happening in that area of concern is the slow removal of all things that need to be removed and their transportation to a dry place for a winter rest. Not what you would call a font of interesting things to share.
Nobody wants her by the way. She has been on the market for almost as long as I have owned her but still n one wants to "take her off my hands." Not that I want to see her go necessarily but it would be helpful, from a financial perspective, if someone made an offer that I could accept. By aside from one interested party way down in Beaufort, SC, who got done in by his beloved's "Nay" vote, and one other fellow who expressed interest but who never showed up for to see, her she has been without suitors for going on six years now and I expect, until I shuffle off this mortal coil, such will be the case. I am just hoping that I will continue to have the financial wherewithal to keep her "seaworthy."
So far, at least here in God's country, the winter has been winter yet. Sure, we have had a few cold days and nights, but nothing that anyone would call "the onset of the winter season." True, "astronomical" winter arrives on the 21st but then it might not arrive at all. After all, according to some people, the "end of the world" will arrive at the same time. Didn't see that in the Old Farmer's Almanac! To me, winter is winter when the weather is "wintry!" If it snows in October, it's winter. So that being the case, it ain't winter yet. Thank goodness, because I hate winter!
